The Study Group on Bioethics and Biolaw is pleased to announce the first edition of the General Assembly on Bioethics and Biolaw, which will take place on 1–2 December 2026 at LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome.
The national conference will bring together scholars in moral philosophy, philosophy of law, political philosophy and legal studies to discuss classical questions and emerging challenges concerning medicine, biotechnology, artificial intelligence, neuroscience, the environment, and the relationship between scientific innovation, human rights and public decision-making.
The conference will be organised into four thematic sessions:
- Beginning of life, reproduction and new biomedical technologies
- Care, vulnerability and technological innovation
- End of life
- Animals, the environment and new responsibilities
The call is addressed in particular to doctoral candidates, postdoctoral researchers, researchers and early-career scholars.
Abstracts of no more than 500 words must be submitted by 15 September 2026 to gruppobioeticabiodiritto@gmail.com.
Applicants will be informed of the outcome by 20 October 2026.
Participation in the conference is free of charge.
